FAQs
Have questions? You're not alone. Here you'll find answers to some of the things I hear most often. If you don't see what you're looking for, feel free to reach out. I'm always happy to help.
How do I get started?
Taking the first step toward therapy can feel vulnerable, and I want you to know that reaching out is something to be proud of. Getting started at InnerBloom Therapy is simple and straightforward.
Here's what to expect:
1. Reach Out: Send me a message or request an appointment through my website. There's no pressure and no commitment, just a chance for us to connect.
2. Free Consultation: I'm happy to offer a free consultation call before we get started. This is a chance for you to share a little about what's bringing you in, ask any questions you have, and get a feel for whether InnerBloom Therapy is the right fit for you. Finding the right therapist matters, and I want you to feel confident before we ever begin.
3. Schedule Your First Session: If we decide to move forward, we'll find a time that works for you and get your first appointment on the books.
4. Your First Session: Your first session is all about getting to know each other. I'll ask questions to better understand your story, goals, and what you hope to get out of therapy. There's no agenda, just an open, judgment-free conversation at your pace.
Ready to take the first step? I'd love to hear from you.
What insurance plans do you take?
At InnerBloom Therapy, I want getting support to feel as simple and accessible as possible. I currently accept the following insurance plans:
- Aetna
- Ambetter
- Cigna & Cigna EAP
- Coordinated Care
- Kaiser Permanente & Kaiser Permanente Northwest
- Molina
- Premera Blue Cross
- Regence
- UnitedHealthcare & UnitedHealthcare EAP
I'm actively working to expand the insurance plans I accept, so if you don't see your plan listed, check back soon; more providers are being added in the coming months. If you have questions about your coverage or want to verify your benefits before booking, don't hesitate to reach out. I'm happy to help you figure it out.
What is Sex Therapy?
At InnerBloom Therapy, sex therapy is a warm, judgment-free space where you can openly explore concerns about your sexual health and intimacy. As a specialized form of talk therapy, it's offered to individuals and couples navigating challenges such as low or mismatched desire, arousal difficulties, pain during sex, sexual trauma, orgasm concerns, or simply wanting a deeper connection with yourself or your partner.
Sessions at InnerBloom Therapy are strictly conversational; there is no physical contact, ever. Together, we'll work through what's on your mind, and I may suggest gentle exercises to practice privately at home at a pace that always feels right for you.
Whether you're coming in solo or with a partner, and wherever you are on your journey, InnerBloom Therapy is here to help you feel more at ease, connected, and whole.
What is Perinatal Mental Health?
Perinatal mental health refers to the emotional and psychological well-being of individuals during pregnancy and up to one year after birth. It also encompasses the journey leading up to pregnancy, including fertility struggles and pregnancy loss.
This season of life can bring up a wide range of emotions, and not all of them look the way you'd expect. While joy and excitement are often part of the picture, it's also incredibly common to experience:
- Anxiety or panic
- Depression or low mood
- Rage or irritability
- Grief and loss
- Birth trauma
- Intrusive thoughts
- Difficulty bonding with your baby
At InnerBloom Therapy, I specialize in supporting individuals and families through all of these experiences, whether you're trying to conceive, currently pregnant, postpartum, or healing from a loss. You deserve care that meets you exactly where you are.
Is Couples Therapy covered by insurance?
In most cases, insurance does not cover couples therapy on its own. Insurance typically requires an individual diagnosis to reimburse for mental health services, which means joint sessions focused solely on relationship concerns are usually not covered.
That said, there are some exceptions. If one partner has an individual diagnosis and couples therapy is included in their treatment plan, some insurers may provide partial coverage. Every plan is different, so it's always worth checking directly with your provider.
At InnerBloom Therapy, I'm happy to talk through your options during a consultation so we can find an approach that works for you, whether that's working within your insurance benefits, exploring self-pay rates, or a combination of both.
Still have a question?
I'd love to hear from you. Reach out anytime, and I'll get back to you as soon as I can.
